Two clean energy projects in Fort St. John get green light

Bob Zimmer MP announces a $1.2 million contribution from the Government of Canada to the City of Fort St. John through the Gas Tax Fund transfer. The funding will support the addition of a micro-hydro unit to the City's wastewater system and the construction of a district energy system at the Pomeroy Sports Centre.

Residents and businesses throughout the District of Houston will have reliable access to clean drinking water thanks to a $3 million contribution from the Government of Canada through the Gas Tax Fund transfer. The project will see the construction of a water treatment facility to improve the community’s drinking water by reducing iron and manganese levels.

MP Zimmer and MP Harris co-hosted a Prince George Reception on Parliament Hill to celebrate the City and the important economic impact Northern BC is having on the Canadian economy. Several Prince George community leaders were also in Ottawa to attend various meetings and promote Prince George.

Bob Zimmer MP and fellow members of the Imjic Classic's Parliamentary All-Star Team participated in a special hockey game on the Rideau Canal to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice and the Imjin River Cup games played by Canadian soldiers during the Korean War in the winters of 1952 and 1953.

The Great Canadian Brain Games on Parliament Hill

Bob Zimmer MP and fellow Conservative Caucus members James Rajotte MP, Mark Adler MP, Costas Menegakis MP and Chris Alexander MP, took part in the Great Canadian Brain Games hosted by Baycrest. The Games were comprised of three teams representing the respective parties participating in a 30 minute round of jeopardy style quizzing about the brain and the contributions being made by Canadian scientists to this field.

$852,000 Funding Annoucement at UNBC

UNBC PhD student Dominic Reiffarth explained a microwave digestor to Bob while he was in Prince George to announce $852,000 in federal funding for the university. UNBC will relocate its Central Equipment Laboratory and acquire 22 new pieces of research equipment.
