OTTAWA – Bob Zimmer, Member of Parliament for Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies issued the following statement on the approval by the BC government of the Valemount Glacier Destination.
Oberti Resort Design and the Pheidias Group have received approval from the BC government to proceed with a project that has been in the works for four years. The Valemount Glacier Destination is designed to be a year-round, environmentally sustainable resort that will draw more visitors than ever to this part of the Canadian Rockies.
“This is a project that I have supported from the start of this process that has been a long time coming. It’s great to see that the extraordinary beauty of this area of northern British Columbia will be showcased year-round.
“Congratulations to Tommaso Oberti, Oberto Oberti, the Pheidias Group, Mayor Jeanette Townsend, and MLA Shirley Bond on this exciting project.”
This approval process was met with support from all levels of government as well as the Simpcw First Nation and local residents.
