Statement by Bob Zimmer, MP on the Passing of Colleague Mark Warawa, MP

OTTAWA – Bob Zimmer, Member of Parliament for Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies, issued the following statement on the passing of Mark Warawa, Member of Parliament for Langley-Aldergrove:

“I was saddened to hear of the passing of my good friend and colleague, Mark Warawa. Mark’s Ottawa office has always been just down the hall from mine and I will miss our many chats walking to and from the House of Commons and on the many flights back and forth from British Columbia to Ottawa.

“We had worked closely together as Conservative Members of Parliament from British Columbia and when I was Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities. Mark was always a strong voice for his constituents and for Canada’s seniors and I am honoured to be able to have called him a friend.

“My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Diane, their children Jonathan, Ryan, Nathan, Eric and Kristin, and their grandchildren Carrington, Rich, Christian, Jonah, Jeremiah, Jakob, Russel, Mya, Mark and Will. Mark was a good man who lived a life of faithful service and we miss him already.

“Mark, until we meet again old friend, may you rest in His eternal peace.”
